Jupiter Dance Academy students attended the Tremaine Convention and Semi-Finals Competition in Orlando on November 22 and 23, 2008. The 24 dancers attended workshops for ballet, jazz, lyrical jazz, hip hop and tap, during the days and competed on Saturday night in the Junior, Teen, and Senior divisions. The 12 Junior students, age 8 - 10, were awarded 1st place in the tap line category for "I Couldn't Live Without Your Love" choreographed by teacher Kelly Kinard. Teen students, age 11 - 13 won 1st place for the ballet line number "Karma" and 2nd place for ballet line "Crabby Apples", choreographed by Artistic Director Debra Conrad, as well as 2nd place for the Tap line number "Tobacco Road", choreographed by Kelly Kinard. Senior students age 14 and older were awarded 2nd place for the ballet number "Trilogy" by choreographer and teacher Tamas Molnar. Jupiter Dance Academy Company dancer Kaitlyn Howarth was named Studio Dancer of the Year, and Company dancer Mycaela Everly auditioned for and received a convention scholarship from the Tremaine judges.

The 24 dancers who attended were Dominique Fuentes, Kaitlyn Howarth, Tania Stratigos, Caroline Johnson, Abby Botnick, Molly Botnick, Anna Cohen, Gabrielle Dame, Liana Damiano, Mycaela Everly, Melody Stratigos, Paige Winters, Alexis Barker, Lauren Chen, Carley Clancy, Rachel Fulton, Francesca Horvath, Maia Kaimakliotis, Alexia Lipman, Alexis Lukasik, Jolie Neeley, Tegan Kahn, Jamie Atterbury, and Audrey Hagger.



The Tremaine 25th Anniversary Tour 2006 and Orlando National Finals were held Friday, July 7 - Tuesday, July 11 at the Renaissance Orlando Resort. The staff and 20 students of Jupiter Dance Academy attended the workshops and competitions. Students of Jupiter Dance Academy competed for three (3) nights with many other studios including schools from Austria, Canada, Costa Rica, New York, California, and Texas. Competition and workshop categories included Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop. Dance stars and legends of Hollywood and Broadway in attendance were Chita Rivera, Liza Minelli, Ben Vereen, Christina Applegate and renowned hip hop choreographer Wade Robson, as well as the many acclaimed choreographers and teachers of the Tremaine staff. The JDA dancers won 12 awards including five (5) first place trophies. Jazz choreographer Denise McClymont received 3 awards. 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were awarded for the National Senior Ballet Duo/Trio category choreographed by Debra Conrad, Artistic Director, Kelly Kinard and Tamas Molnar, respectively. The tour culminated with a Grand Finale Gala attended by more than 1600 people with a cappella performances by Liza Minelli and Ben Vereen honoring Joe Tremaine and his contributions to the world of dance.



 

The Jupiter Dance Academy Performance Company attended the Tremaine Dance Convention and Competition in Orlando on November 19 & 20, 2005. The dancers competed with more than 30 other dance studios with 9 numbers in the Ballet, Jazz, Tap, & Lyrical categories. JDA was awarded four-1st place trophies, two-2nd place trophies and three-3rd place trophies. Three Academy students also attended the Tremaine Competition held in Atlanta on November 5 & 6 and were awarded first place for a ballet number and first place for a jazz number. The Academy staff and students will travel to New York in January to attend that regional Tremaine Competition. With these awards, the Academy has been invited to attend the National Competition held in Orlando in July of 2006.

Jupiter Dance Academy – Award winning National Dance Champions won four 1st places, eight 2nd places and one 3rd place at the Tremaine National Dance Competition in Orlando, Florida last week.

The dancers were: Melissa Barrett, Jackie Bourassa, Alesandra Cormier, Riane Goodwin, Nicole Haag, Jessica Ivers, Hayley Johnson, Emily Jonczak, Kelsey Lavelle, Chelsea McClymont, Ella Michel, Kelly Mills, Natalie Nowicki, Kim Perry, Lynsey Price, Bridget Riley, Katie Schirte, Morgan Shockley, Alexandra Tweedle, and Chloe Wylin.
