The Jupiter Dance Academy Performance Company attended the
Tremaine Dance Convention and Competition held in Orlando, November
19th – 21st. Four teachers and 30 young performers showcased their
talent during the dance competition and were awarded 9 trophies. The
senior ballet Believe received 1st place and the teen ballet Wild Orchids
received 2nd place. Both numbers were choreographed by Artistic Director,
Debra Conrad. Instructor Kelly Zeltmann’s teen tap number Do Your
Thing received a 3rd place award, while Zeltmann’s teen tap numbers
Simply Irresistible, What I Like About You, and Rhythm Nation were awarded
2nd place trophies. A 2nd place was awarded to teacher Marissa Pappas-Kotouch’s
junior ballet Masquerade. Jazz instructor Kim Lorenzatto’s numbers
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and She Blinded Me with Science both received
3rd place honors. Teen company dancer Francesca Horvath auditioned for
and was awarded a convention scholarship. The dancers and teachers attended
ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, fusion jazz, musical theater, tap
and hip hop classes on Saturday and Sunday with top professionals Joe
Tremaine, Nick Drago, Marty Dew, Laurie Johnson, Derrick Shrader, Colby
Shinn, and Keri LaGrand.
